Starting Guard
Position in High School 2009
Since the 8th grade, Nicole has been working with a
trainer/shooting coach. Initially, the sessions
started out by working in groups. In preparing to
make the adjustment from middle school to high
school, her sessions became more intense
--ultimately evolving into one-on-one weekly
instruction. The preparation proved to be extremely
beneficial.
Given Nicole’s school is classified as 6A with a
history of state championship wins, the competition
for placement was fierce. However Nicole landed a
starting role on the Junior Varsity team and was
eventually rotated into the Varsity roster. As a
member of the Junior Varsity team, Nicole emerged as
a dominate offensive player once again averaging in
double figures. By mid season, she
comprehensively led all scores. Further she
had gained some valuable varsity experience. |

Middle School
& High School
(2007 - 2009)
As a 7th and 8th grader at Sparkman Middle School,
Nicole established herself as the team’s
leading offensive player. For two
consecutive years, Nicole led the team in
scoring averaging double figures each
season. Her first year in middle school, she
broke a school shooting record. Her 8th
grade year, she had a knee surgery just prior to the
start of basketball and missed one-third of the
season. However, she made a miraculous comeback and
led the team once again in comprehensive scoring for
the year. As a left-handed shooter, Nicole dominated
the perimeter finding great comfort behind the 3
point line and at the free throw line. Her dominance
in outside shooting and free throw shooting has been
a deadly combination for opponents.
The picture to the right is a cover shot of Nicole
upon recovering from her knee injury. The photo was
personally signed by Tennessee Vols Head Coach Pat Summit.
Upon completing her 8th grade year, Nicole entered
the summer travel ball season (2009) by playing up
two age groups (16 and Under). After playing several
major exposure tournaments, Nicole began receiving
her first college recruitment letters – all were
from Division I schools. |
